Would anyone say I missed a bet here? Usually I'm not this timid and I've really been working on getting in the most value bets I can on the river, but here I felt I was only getting called by a better hand....input appreciated.

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif, Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
Hero raises, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB calls.
Flop: (6.50 SB) 2/images/graemlins/club.gif, 6/images/graemlins/club.gif, K/images/graemlins/heart.gif (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, MP1 folds, BB calls.
Turn: (4.25 BB) 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.
River: (6.25 BB) 9/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.
Final Pot: 6.25 BB
Results in white below:
BB has 4h Ah (high card, ace).
Hero has Qh Qs (one pair, queens).
Outcome: Hero wins 6.25 BB.
I know this isn't that big of a mistake or a big hand, but I'd just like to know what others think of situations like this and how they handle them. I know SSHE is telling me to bet this river, but I can't :O
Standard check, or playing scared?
