Interesting that no one has yet to admit that they never wash their hands. Must be the sample size as I've been seeing an increasing number of people who don't seem to be washing hands after #2. Must be the small sample size so far.

btw - Anyone out there wash their hands before going to the bathroom instead of afterwards?

I wash my hands after both. I'd explain all of the reasoning behind it, but I think it should suffice to say that I do it because...

It's not a particularly arduous or complicated process to do so.

I sometimes pre-wash when I'm at the casinos. There's not much that changes more hands quicker than money and casino chips.

dont touch the door knob in a public bathroom....duh

also, what if you are at home, do you still wash your hands after takin a piss??

I think washing your hands after taking a piss is retarded. Do you wash your hands after you touch your nose, or your elbow? Why is your dick any dirtier than these parts of your body? Its prolly cleaner since its tucked away in your underwear. The reason to wash your hands after taking a dump is because you can get microbes and bacteria and stuff that live in [censored], on your hands from whiping your ass. If you then put your hands on a sandwhich and eat the thing, you can get sick. So either, wash your hands, or dont whipe your ass, I suggest going with the former instead of the latter.

Washing your hands after taking a piss should only be done for show. i.e. you are at a chicks house and take a piss, wash your hands, because she is prolly like everyone else, and to dumb too realize your dick isnt dirty.

I'm with daryn. My dick is clean. How is the skin on your dick different than any other part of your body. If you touched your leg would you feel like you need to wash your hands? For #2 you have to wipe though, and when you wipe your hand comes very close to touching sh!t. Also you usually have to touch the toliet seat and flusher although I usually use my foot for that. Also hand washing is more important for #2 cause even if you pee on your hand its not gonna do anything to you, but coming into contact with sh!t can make you pretty sick.

You know what? I also use my blinker in the middle of the night when nobody is around.

I do these things without thinking, because they do not hurt to do, and they are potentially bad not to do.

P.S. I shower every single morning. This is done roughly ten minutes after voiding my bowels, which is done roughly thirty minutes after my third cup of coffee. I haven't had a mudbutt scare since I was a child. I don't park my ass on anyone's throne but my own. I simply do not need to.

I suppose then, that I could honestly say that I always take a shower immediately after #2.

FWIW, I think washing your hands after going to the bathroom is ridiculous. However, washing your hands frequently is a very good thing, and since you are already in the bathroom, why not? Especially if you are at the casino.

The proper and hygienic thing to do is to wash your hands BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER going to the bathroom. This method best protects you from disease, and protects others as well.

The correct way to wash your hands is to wash them up to and including the wrists.

Also, try not to touch your face in public unless you have just washed your hands. Most viruses enter through the eyes, nose or mouth.

Yes, and especially start doing this at a very young age so that your immune system is helpless when something manages to get through your OCD routines.

I wash my hands when a) they are dirty and b) I am at a sink. I don't ask myself permission to touch my face or any other part of my body. I haven't had more than the occassional mild cold (~1 day) in the last 10 years.

So, you agree that if he's going to be cooking, he needs to wash his hands.

Why?

And when you answer that, substitute rubbing my eyes or maybe eating some fruit or perhaps shaking someone's hand for "cooking and stuff," and then tell me that you don't agree that you oughta wash your goddamned hands after you touch your dick.

I like a solid wash with soap after #2, and generally after #1 I just rinse hands and splash water on face. This is more because it feels good to put cold water on my face than for hygene.

My point was that the guy said he only washes his hands if he's "cooking or something." Now, why would that be? I mean, if the reasoning is that there's generally no reason to wash one's hands after pissing because your penis is so pristine, why would you need to wash them after pissing in exceptional cases, like cooking or something?

One last question, Colonel. If you gave an order that Santiago was not to be touched, and your orders are always followed, why would he need to be transferred off the base?

MMMMMM

I just read those recomendations on a major front-page web browser like 3 weeks ago (Netscape linked article I think). Those recommendations are commonly known in the medical community. After washing your hands, not touching your face in public is the second-most effective thing to do to prevent catching colds. That was in the article.

Also, any time you have been out in public, opening doors, handling money, etc., your hands are NOT clean. Doctors in fact recommend exactly what I suggested. But what the hell do they know, anyway?

Maybe you are an exception with an especially strong immune system as you have almost never had a cold, and perhaps you have perhaps never gotten the flu. Do whatever you like, personally speaking, but that doesn't mean you should ridicule factually based advice that doctors agree with. Don't be a moron.

And yeah, let's see George Carlin do a real routine, where he gets sick as a dog with Hepatitis A or something at the end of the shtick, because he didn't wash his hands before shoving those french fries in his mouth.

I have twice noted McDonald's employees not washing their hands after using the lavatory. Once was #2. If that bugs you, realize that others don't wash too, and then they handle the money/door handles/poker chips which you then touch. Money is incredibly contaminated with bad bacterias. If you want to put some E. Coli or other good stuff in your mouth, just eat without washing your hands after being out in public. Or touch your eyes and get Pink Eye, a rather nasty infection. I've gotten it twice over the years, before I learned how it is spread.

Concerning the difference between washing hands for "cooking and stuff" as opposed to not doing anything exceptional. Handling food is more likely to directly introduce contaminants into my bodies and others. Where as other stuff is much more indirect. Eating fruit (which I don't do anyways) counts as cooking. It's a % thing. You are never going to reduce the amount of gross stuff admitted into your body to 0%, so obviously a certain level is allowable, or else you are going to spend your life in a vat of fromaldehyde <sp>. Activites like cooking and stuff increase the amount of contact with your hands into your mouth compared to other activites which only have indirect contact, and thus reduce the %'s.

When I worked as a cashier I realized that money (and the public in general) are absolutely filthy, especially coins. My fingers would be black by the end of a shift, so touching my face was completely out of the question. I had a stain on the brim of my hat where I touched it to reposition. I learned that if I had an itch on my face the only options were the first or seoncd knuckle, or possibly the back of the wrist, and when I had to sneeze I tried to cover my face with my shoulder and upper arm.

Now I work at a hospital and use many of these same techniques combined with enough hand washing to leave my skin dry and cracked. I also use the inside of my shirt to itch my face. I have thought about this alot and found my methods to be acceptable and hygenic. 9am whiskey inspired rant over.

also, another important point:

i said in my first response, always for #2, sometimes for #1. evidently this gave people the idea that i never wash my hands after taking a piss, which is just totally incorrect and should embarrass people due to the lack of their reading comprehension skills.

anyway, most of the time that i take a piss and don't wash, it's at my house, when i'm just hanging around doing nothing. when i'm out, or more specifically when i piss into a urinal, i always wash after. this is because using a urinal implies some possible splashback. if even a slight drop of urine gets on my hands, obviously i'm gonna wash them. but i can piss at my house without any incident.
