MP2 is very loose and pretty passive.
SB is decent.
BB is a little loose but not terrible.

Time for a little street by streetness:

I like the agression.

But

"BB is a little loose but not terrible." Loose enough to call with a hand that the flop hit? Decent enough to bet a ragged flop putting you on overcards?

I would just let this one go here. But I've found that I'm playing a little more weak/tight now after taking a few months off.

I think that's ok since the caller is loose. I assume you'll bet the turn and check the river. you gotta love when the top card is paired since there's no way you're reverse dominated. BB is a little loose so him having a better A isn't as much of a concern as usual. that would definitely be on the back of my mind though. your 9 also completes an 85 OESD and opens the doors for redraws, so while your outs aren't 100% clean, they're pretty clean. 764 board and I muck. I give you 4 outs if behind, with a reasonable (33-50%) chance of being ahead right now.

only you can decide about the river call, but yeah, I think you played it perfectly

If river was a blank do you check behind?

So what did he have I'm dying. I figure a really really bad player with a 7 and this is his idea of slow playing?

Hmmm. It is about 50% that you won this hand, I suspect that it came down to who's kicker was better, and if your opponent would raise with a big ace, and limp with any other ace, there is a good chance that you are ahead, there is also a good chance that he had some kind of straight draw, and is just betting the 'scare card' on the end.

I think the interesting question, is how do you think the BB is going to react after you show down this hand, and what should you do? Do you think that he is going to go away so easily, next time he decides to throw up a test bet? I think you are likely to get three bet instead. I also think that it is possible that you won't be able to get many free cards from him, if he is the bettor, so you better be prepared for three bets on other raises from you also. But, that can be good if you are betting value, instead of making plays, you can raise, let him threebet, and then smoothcall, and pop him again on a big bet street.

How often does a passive player c/r the river like this with just an A?

Hi Bison,

I like it up until the river. When a loose somewhat passive player checkraises the river it seems like he would have a 7. Thats what I say sitting here reading this, but in an actual game I doubt i would be able to lay it down.
