My very first hand at the table so no reads...

Anyone raise this flop?

On the river I probably wouldn´t have capped if it wasn´t for MP2 hanging in there...

I don't play this any differently.

By not raising the flop, don't you allow BB and MP1 to hang around cheaply (getting proper odds) with a single /images/graemlins/club.gif??

Yes, the pot is big and you want to maximize your chances of winning it, but I think this route makes it much easier for hero to gain more bets on a safe turn card, I hate catching a set and everyone slows down because I raised the flop.

I'm raising the flop. You just sat down and have no reads on them, but they also have no reads on you. Make'em pay. The pot is pretty big and it's tough to lay down any hand that they called a pre-flop cap bet with. AA, KK, QQ, or AJ are all going to call it.

Well any gutshot is still gonna call my raise and by waiting for the Turn I can both protect my hand better and also gain more bets in the process. I thinks that this is an easy flopcheck...

I like the way you played this, though if you raised the flop you would probably have a good chance of being 3-bet by MP2. Assuming you just call the 3-bet and MP2 bets the turn, then you've got the benefits of raising the flop *and* raising the turn.

I raise the flop, and I like the point that Grendel brings up. If you raise the flop you may get to call a threebet and raise the turn too. If it's played that way and the turn gets capped and he bets into you on the river I just call down to see if he flopped the straight.
