View Full Version : Just another dumb chip & a chair story (little poker content)...

I'm sure you've all read the chip & a chair stories where the Hero had was outchipped 7,999-to-1 and came back to win a Sit'n'Go. The only reason I felt this was worthy of a post was that it occurred in a super-satellite, 83 entrants, top 9 pay. (Buy in was 200 FPP's on Stars, top 9 win an entry to an EPT satellite that normally costs 2,000 FPP.)

At this point, I must have been in about 25th place out of 30. I'm not sure why I decided to push, but I did...

Despite being dominated both times (KQ vs. AQ, A9 vs. 99), I tripled up twice to get to T2895. After clawing my way to T4320, I sucked out nicely on a short stack all-in...

I was in last place out of ~20 players at that point. Luckily, I picked up a monster in Q3s in the BB. I decided to stop-and-go, hoping I could push him off of some junk like King-high on a raggedy flop. Turns out he had a real hand, but I sucked out quite nicely once again...

For a while, we were down to 12 players. I stole some blinds to keep pace, but when we got to 10 players, I remained in last place with a stack of T5000 or so. Luckily, the big stack was trying his hardest to put the other short stack on tilt. Check out this hand...

All in all, it was one of my worst played tournaments ever, but I immediately cashed out 2,000 FPP's, and I'm now much closer to getting that snazzy black wool jacket for 10,000 FPP's.
