comments? since the flop was diamondless, I tend to check-fold here. then I got it into my head that he's probably raising light, and I could get him to muck an A on the turn. the plan was to check-fold the river unless I hit TPTK

Dude, you don't want him to fold an Ace, you want him to fold a pair. How about letting him bet for you?

good point... really good point...

I'm an idiot

check-call, check-call, check-fold?

Against a thinking opponent it would appear you check raised the flop to protect a vunerable hand against a 4 flush.

I like the way you played the hand. If he raises the turn, you should most likely fold.

What line do you take if he calls the turn bet and you do not spike an Ace or a King on the river?

Would he call the river with ace high? Your MP3 raise probably looks a bit stealish so his 3-betting standards are a bit lower, right?

Check-call, check-call, bet-fold?

check-fold if no A or K on the river

Josh,

Does You Think That I Is a LAG?

Have you taken an English class at Columbia yet?

all 3 lines seem viable. check-calling the river to snap off a bluff, check-folding if I felt a bluff was unlikely, or betting if I felt like he'd call with A-high (which I do).

Well sfer said it pretty well I think. Without a fairly scary card I don't think you acn win this pot unless he has a weaker ace. In that case I think if you check call the whole way you will likely get a free showdown. If he bets the river I fold, bad?

And to Mike, as far as I can tell Josh takes nothing but art classes.

Um, how about capping it preflop and leading the flop?
