Your line of play is perfectly valid, but I think a case can also be made for check calling the river.

If you are going to bet and then fold, it might be worth it to check-call the river. It looks like a flush, but the turn call seems kind of odd to me. Interested to see the showdown.

I agree. Plus I think this board falls into the "they'll only call a bet when they have you beat" category.
