TIP: Complete sentences are a good thing. Give them a try.

Assuming this is a limit Hold'em game, with the blinds at 400/800, if he raised then it'd be 1200 to you already. So your reraise would have made it 1600 to go. Correct?

And there's something about women calling in between leaving them with 200??

Need a little clarification.

I agree with Chip that I have no idea what actually happened in the hand.

OK, I gotcha now. I'd say yes it's a good play, if you've got a read on him and think he'll muck after your raise, and also feel that if you get heads up with the all-in, you'll beat her.

Also important here is the size of stacks that the blinds have. If you think that the blinds might stay around for the 1600, then you'll definitely wanna raise it. If a big stack sits in the BB with a small pocket pair, and it only costs them 800 more to see the flop, they might take a stab at flopping the set and possibly knock 3 of you out at the same time.

Of course, you've committed over 1/2 your stack now. This is a big hand for you, it better win.

But you played it strong and agressive, going with your read on the 1st guy. Nothing wrong with that.. If he plays back and caps it at 3200, then you'll pretty much know where you're at with him.

Yes,I think it was a good play I would be concerned about the caller but she was shortstacked and liable to play any decent hand (the blinds were coming)
