Before the marketing slime at Cadillac got thier grubbly little hands on it, Rock & Roll might have deserved to be on this list somewhere.

Some things should be sacrosanct.

This should've been a poll. I vote for anything from "In Through the Out Door". The most underappreciated Zeppelin album. let the flames begin.

Ramble On is my favorite. I'll leave "best" to the music snobs.

hmmmm, Zeppelin was a band I pretty much liked everything they did with no huge favorites... just everything was really good...

but some I liked a bit more than others off the top of my head...

no particular order

Going to California
Thank You - I always liked it when radio stations let the song play out.
Kashmir - back in the day, the Seattle radio station I listened to (KISW) played this song pretty much every night.
Travelling Riverside Blues

Great thread. They're one of my favorites, you've listed some good ones. Kashmir does not belong, however.

Edit: oops, just saw it was favorite. Clearly, they all belong then. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

As many times as I have heard it, I still get goosebumps when I hear Stairway to Heaven. I also like The Battle of Evermore. Kashmir makes me smile every time I hear it just due to its prominence in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Stairway is sooooo dull now. Along with Hotel California, blah blah blah everything that I've heard at least 500 times. Really, at this point it sounds like lunch at a cheap middle aged coffee shop. Or like a bunch of guys singing along together at last call because none of them hooked up.

Its all good stuff. I had just about all of their albums on vinyl. But I can't listen to LZ, or any of the so called "classic rock" I used to like any more. It's weird, musical tastes of most guys my age move toward this stuff, while I moved away from it.

They're all great. FWIW, I think Tangerine is the most underrated Zeppelin song.

GREAT pick. That song is awesome. Also:
Sick Again
Your Time is Gonna Come
Bron-Y-Aur (the short instrumental)

Bron-Y-Aur was played at my wedding, which meant Led Zeppelin was credited in our program. I always thought that was kind of cool.

I'm not up to reading the other posts right now.

Most Underrated:
--The Rover
--Since I've Been Loving You
--Down by The Seaside
--Nobody's Fault But Mine
--Out On The Tiles

The rest are standards, and don't need to be gone over.

[/ QUOTE ]

Funny you mention this. I haven't seen the movie for a long time, but it seems to me that the guy who suggests playing the music to score with the girl actually suggests a band other than Zeppelin. I think he says something like "Don't forget to play Aerosmith really loud in the van," or something like that, and then it's a jump-cut to Kashmir blasting in the van.

Man, I would be a freakin gigantic brainiac if I could free up some of this brain space with actual useful information.

Good song to have sex to. Especially in the back of a van.
In case anyone missed the reference, see Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

No, the character suggests playing side 1 of Zeppelin 4... but Cameron Crowe couldn't get rights to use Stairway.

I thought this was part of the joke. The kid being told to play side 1 of Zeppelin 4, but then hearing Kashmir playing was good for a few laughs. Of course he then goes on to screw up the date in other ways...

Yeah, I'd say he screwed it up a little.
