Position and The Gap Concept

One consideration of the Gap Concept is if you tighten your calling requirements and loosen your opening requirements, you are often out of position.

Not necessarily. You must factor the blinds into the equation, including when you are a blind. Since you'll call less from the blinds, you'll be out of position less. Since you'll raise more (and maybe get called behind), you might be out of position more. But then again, when you raise you'll often get called only by the blinds, and be in position.


It could work out either way, depending upon a lot of things.
