RV makes it 80K from SBB, JG call w/98s. Flop K32 w/two of JG's suit, JG check, RV 80K, JG call. Turn 7o, JG check, RV 80, JG 230, RV call. River Qo, check, check, RV JJ. Next hand JG lost another 140K, than the following was the finisher.
IMO Julian didn't raise near enough on the turn. Varky only had to call 150 more for a 700K pot and he had over 4.7 mil in his stack at the time. I also don't necessarilty think 98s & J8s are the types of hands to play in this situation; headsup w/a wealthy, big-stacked amateur. Watch the '94, '95, & '99 WSOP tapes to see how Russ Hamilton, Dan Harrington, & Huck Seed dealt[or didn't deal] with the same situation.
Easy to criticize from the rail, but I'd like to know Julian's thoughts during the headup. BTW I hope I described the hand accurately, got it from Andy Glazer's report.
