Is this a reasonable draw to stay with after the flop? Table is pretty loose/aggressive.

Turn: (11.16 BB) 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif (4 players)

I like it until the river. You can't really expect a bet here to fold out the entire field a big majority of the time. I just check behind on that river.

No, it doesn't have work the majority of time, just 1 time out of 11. Having said that, I agree with you and do not like the river bet.

Check the river. The are simply too many people to try a bet against.

With the table consideration, PF raise is good (AJo is 50/50 fold/ raise PF to me). Is the flop raise to clean up outs? I suppose u could get hands like A8/ A10 (less likely)/ a 9 to fold. With the turn checking through, taking a stab at the pot is fine. Depending on the types of players left, u might get them to fold 1 in 11.

I don't like the flop raise, I think a call would have been better in this situation. Your A is dirty to someone who has AQ-AT, an open ended straight draw, and the A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif could lose to a flush. Your K outs are not even all clean.

Staying with the gutshot draw on the Flop is clearly correct, but I don't see the value in raising.
The hero is out of position and unlikely to lock down a free card - without a stronger draw there is very thin valu in spewing extra chips into the pot.

Just call the flop. If you had an EP better and no caller between with good chance of getting the EP better Heads-up, then raise. Your raise on this type of flop is not going to clean up much and you are likely to be three bet by the flop leader.

Your river bet is throwing money away. Versus so many opponents there is no value in it.

Peace,

I think most people are missing the fact that you have a double gutbuster on the flop, making this an excellent raise as it could be a value raise and it cleans up some outs.

The river is ugly. I think you knew that.

Good catch....I definitly missed that. Makes me think about how many I might have missed in actually games.

I raised the flop since i felt my hand was easily worth a call, and i wanted other aces and jacks to fold. After we checked around the turn I thought I'd take a shot at it since it was decently sized, I had shown some strength on the flop, and everyone but MP3 (most likely a busted draw) checked two consecutive rounds.

It turned out to be a good value bet:

Final Pot: 13.16 BB

Results in white below:
UTG+1 has 9d Ks (high card, king).
mcpeepants has Ah Jd (high card, ace).
Outcome: mcpeepants wins 13.16 BB.

And by gutshot, you mean double gutshot right?
