I'm thinking of making the switch, so I'm wondering what a good player earns there. Is 3/100 unreal? 2/100 easy? Can anyone enlighten me?

How many tables are you planning on playing? For >2 tables 3 BB/100 is exceptional and 2 BB/100 is very good. 2 BB/100 is not easily attainable 3+-tabling.

I'm not exceptional and I'm making 2.5BB/100, 2-tabling.

Though if my current rush keeps up (7BB/100 over the last 4000 hands) who knows? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would guess that 2-tabling, 3BB/100 is very good and the best could probably squeeze out 4BB/100. There have been a lot of discussions about this very topic, though -- take a look through the archives.

I think it was decided that for the looser/more aggressive 10/20 game that the Best could squeeze out 5BB/100, just because people pump postflop a lot more with marginal hands, and if you have good reads, you can really profit. Not sure whether people would agree to the same figure for 5/10, which tends to be more passive.

Why would 4 tabling make a big difference?

I should note I plan to datamine it for about a month before switching, so I will have good stats on many players.

5BB/100 at $10/$20 lol good luck, $5/$10 is much easier to beat.

More bad players at $5/$10 = more money

I find that 4 tabling v. 3 tabling makes a big difference for me. But I 4 table when I play 5/10 anyway.

Note that the rake is better at 10/20 and that players will often dump 5BB postflop vs 2.5 for 5/10...there is a fine balance to be had.

The $5/$10 guys are passive, weak and predictable.

$10/$20 the players are much more aggressive, they'll slowplay and checkraise semi bluff, bluff raise when a scare card hits.

I dont think a good players BB/100 will be higher at $10/$20 than $5/$10 the games are just that much harder.

3/100 is certainly not unreasonable.

There was a discussion on this topic a few months ago and the general consensus was that 3 BB/100 was the upper bound for true winrate 4-tabling the 10/20. I doubt this translates to 5 BB/100 2-tabling. That upper bound was cited for expert players like Schneids and Diablo who have vast experience.

The softness of games like the Party 5/10 6-max and Party 15/30 full are overrated by many posters because players with anomolous positive win rates tend to be more vocal about their success than the players struggling to grind out .5 BB/100.
