Satelite, 4 winners win a buyin to a large torney, we are 5 left.

No Limit blinds 1000-2000 Chipleader has about 25k second largest stack has about 18k. 3 of us has about 6k

second smallest stack is BB, chipleader calls all fold. Small stack now moves all in with his remaining 4 500. chipleader takes about 2 minutes to make the call.

My qoustion: ShouldnŽt chipleaders call be automatic here? He is probably not a big underdog and even if he looses the hand he is still chipleader AND two of us are almost out anyway... Should he twrow any hand away here?

Yes he should if he has really bad cards.

With that many chips, he can probably never play another hand and be in the top 4.

If it was like 2000 bet he had to cover, worth a call. but at 4500, a bit high.

His call is automatic, without even looking at his cards he should call.

It's questionable whether he should even be in the hand, irrespective of his cards. For sure he can, and probably should, fold for 4500. If you're one of the other short stacks hoping for him to call, tough.

I was one of the short stacks, yes. Anyway he called with KQs, BB showed A6o. King on the flop and BB was out.
