My notes on this guy say he'll go all in with nearly anything in the first few hands. This was the first hand of the game. Was this a stupid push or just very unlucky? Also, I couldn't get bisonbison's hand converter tow ork for some reason, so I'll just paste.

You're such an idiot. You got all your chips in as a 4:1 favourite. What were you thinking?

Well, I've never gone all in in the first hand of an SNG before, I'm fairly new to them. I usualy sit back and watch everyone else butt heads the first round. For some reason it still felt weak even with a strong hand.

Someone call the Bad Beat Police.

Do you really think you played this hand wrong? /images/graemlins/confused.gif

It wasn't. If you have notes on the player as a maniac who will call almost anything all-in during the first couple hands, I'd likely just go ahead and push preflop. The other option is to play as you did, which I think is also fine.

I can see passing up small edges early, but never one like this, never.

The only time you should fold KK here is if a member of the Al Quaida is standing next to you holding your pet poodle hostage and telling you to fold KK or he'll strangle the pooch.

Cheers,

Where are the bad beat police when you need them?

OK, so it seems that this was just a bad beat. I was basically wondering if I should have been seeing monsters under the bed for this hand - even though the opponent had garbage was pushing all in so soon a bad move. Incidently, I had an almost identical hand come up in another SNG today and thankfully the odds held up for me. Thanks for the input guys!
