I've been emailing back and forth with a guy from cgi gaming (the makers of Bud Jones and Paulson) about the possibility of them releasing a stock Bud Jones chips (much as they are for Paulson). I told him there is clamoring among the internet folks looking for these chips. He wants me to call him and let him know what we'd like to see, as they're considering some type of production.

So...what would we like to see?

I think the most obvious wold be a set very similar to that used in the WSOP. That would obviously sell well due to the poker boom sparked by the WSOP.

What would be the ETA on their release. What would the approximate price be? How would they sell the chips? Would they allow customs, or just have a few set designs?

Please post all the info you get. If you need more people to badger the guy to get your point accross, just post his contact info. Ill be happy to do my part /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks for the notice.

Are you sure you're talking to the right guys? Gaming Partners International (GPI) owns Paulson, Bud Jones, and B&G. Bourgogne et Grasset bought/merged with Paulson/Bud Jones 2 years ago, and they have formed the new entity GPI.

Web Page!! (http://www.gpigaming.com/index.shtml)

Check the size/colors/inlay/layout/edgespot selections for Paulson, and the puzzle kit for Bud Jones & B&G chips! Ridiculous.

According to their site, they follow a "very strict sales policy that consists of only selling directly to licenced casinos in North America and the Carribean Islands. Generally, GPI USA gaming chips are not supplied to the public, advertising companies or any other business firms."

Maybe since they gave the entire home game market to Chipco/ASM/etc, they realize what a big mistake they made, and are trying to correct this.

Ask the guy how many for a minimum. Group buy??? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I just hope they don't make it as lame as the mold for the new Apache chips with PAULSON CHIPS in huge letters.

Wow, I'm surprised you made contact with them. You are talking about GPI Gaming, right?

I've e-mailed them TWICE about this, and TOLD them that they could make a killing selling STOCK Paulson chips (check out their "Gaming Chips" pdf file) shown on their website. I would gladly pay for that, even IF I couldn't choose colors, etc.

TELL THE GUY TO MAKE SOME STOCK PAULSONS IN GOOD COLORS (TRADITIONAL) AND THEY WILL SELL LIKE CRAZY!!!

Yes, they need to stick strictly to the top hat & cane design. None of this "Paulson Chips" stuff on the side.

And also, if you want us to contact him, please leave his e-mail. Me and some friends will be more than happy to let them know the demand is HIGH for those kinds of chips.

Yes, this is CGI Gaming. I got the contact information from their website (same as linked in a previous post) and was bounced around a little bit before getting ahold of this guy. First email was just asking if there was anyway to get my hands on some Bud Jones chips. He told me basically, no, they only sell to casinos and are not going to get into the home market, but he'd keep my email on file if they ever decided to (yeah right). Then after reading several threads on 2+2 about interest on some WSOP look alikes, I just figured I'd drop him another email and sugges that they just make some kind of a stock Bud Jones set and they'd make a fortune. This is his reply...

I am setting up to carry chips as well as poker tables. Please advise what you feel may be the top 3 types and styles of chips & tables for me to offer. You and your friends are users so what will be convenient and desirable for you? call me to brainstorm. I'll take care of you in return for your advice.

So...I'll call him and see if we might be able to get them to get some BJ chips going for the public.

Shoot me your e-mail. I have a photo of some of the smaller denominations from this year's WSOP. You could model the chips from those, if you like.

Personally, I'd rather have Paulsons, so let the guy know about how regular chips would sell easily, all he has to do is look at e-bay to know how high the demand is for them.

Am I wrong but isn't it GPI Gaming not CGI Gaming.
Sounds a little funny to me.

Q: "Don't you mean GPI Gaming?"

A: "That's right, CGI Gaming."

Yeah, we need to clarify who we're talking to here. It's probably not GPI Gaming, the real company.

Yes, I am a complete moron. When I first emailed with these people a couple of months ago (and was told "no, we're not in the home market") it was through an email straight off the GPI website. Then, somehow, when I went to re-email them recently, I put in their address as CGIgaming, not GPIgaming. So I've been talking with the wrong guy the last few days. I'm an idiot. Sorry to get everybody's hopes up...but let's just hope that if there's some Paulson's being released, that Bud Jones aren't too far behind.

That's pretty damn funny actually! The strange part is they were interested? I looked at their website and they run casino theme parties and stuff like that. What are the odds on that happening? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I just looked at that website. How were they planning on producing Bud Jones chips? lol

Yeah, and I've NEVER been to that website before, so I don't know how I managed to get them mixed up. And how does the guy NOT say "you've got the wrong people dude" - he must know NOTHING about chips...
