View Full Version : You'd think I could just simply stop doing this, but no

Ok, so other than having a nice wire strapped to the bottom of my chair that shocks the crap out of me whenever I do this, what are some good methods to get over this terrible habit:

I have a bad habit which I believe stems from my more limit-based background. When I raise PF with overs, I tend to bet pot almost regardless of what comes, even if I've missed completely.

Once it's past the say 50/100 level or so, having a raise to 3xBB + pot sized bet is normally committing your stack.

How do you (or should you) avoid this when you have for example AJ in late position, open raise, and whiff with one caller? What if you have position, and what if you're giving position?

after 50 100 I hardly ever have a flop decision...

If im a SS i want all my money in with AJ in a semi blind steal

If Im a big stack I want to put a SS all in...

Even at 50 100 you should not be playing the flop much because of the problem you are writing about. Any raise will committ you, and AJ is not likely to hit well. Even if a J comes, if a Q or K comes then what?

I have a feeling you are approaching the flop from in the later levels.
