I occasionally play in a home game where raising 72o is considered standard as a joke. They then like to test their skill post flop.

Man I should make that game more often...

I just entered a 3/6 room and posted the blind. UTG (unknown) raises, one cold-caller and then i re-raise with JJ.

Flop comes JT2.

UTG bets, I raise, UTG 3-bets, I call. Cold-caller still calling.

Turn is a 7, completing the rainbow. UTG and me keep raising and knock out Mr. CC.

River is also a blank, and UTG check-raises me. It's only at that point I realised he had 89o. I really need to work on my hand reading skills....

I asked him "Why?"

He replied "Cos I'm HOT!". And darn, was he right - he was up a further 50BB in 20 minutes, jamming the pot with 74o etc. I really learnt a thing or two.
