View Full Version : I gotta change my style, when they call with this

This is not serious post, but it just happened to me at paradise (hand nr.: 187,633,729 for those who can´t believe it), and since my wife is not at home I gotta share it with somebody.

We are heads up in a $20 NL HE tourney, I got 7,483 in chips, my opponent 2,517 (before the flop this is). I´m in the BB with 54o, limit 250/500. Small Blind Button calls.

Flop: Kd Kc 7s, we both check.

Turn: Ah, again check, check.

Then there comes this awful river which kills my hand: Qs making a board of KK7 A Q and letting me play the board ( I hate this :-) )

Of course I bet for value 700, but unfortunatly my opponent calls. Ouch. But what does he show: 6c 8d

He calles with the second worst possible hand, but still he won.

I think I gotta work on my style. Seems, they all think I´m a maniac :-)

Hope you enjoyed it. I loughed a lot.

Regards

Martin

"He calls with the second worst possible hand

(6-8) but still he won."

Actually, his hand is in a 5-way tie for the 11th worst possible hand, because there is a 10-way tie for the worst possible hand, between 2-3, 2-4, 2-5, 2-6, 3-4, 3-5, 3-6, 4-5, 4-6 and 5-6.

The 5-way tie for the 11th worst possible hand is between 2-8, 3-8, 4-8, 5-8 and his hand.

Was it a good call on his part? Uh, no.

That hand should have never even reached the river. With the amount of chips you had, you should be aggressive heads-up. You bet the pot on the flop and he can't call. You're right, you need to change your style!
