i thought my river check-call was pretty weak given that the board paired. thoughts?

It is the top card that paired on the river, and that card also put three to a flush on the board. Maybe button has 65 and will check behind now that he's counterfeited, but that's not my first guess.

I would check-call the river too. And if the action went check, check, bet, checkraise, I would probably fold.

This looks good. Button probably has a boat.
