There was an episode of real sex about it. Apparently they're good because you can heat them up before sticking them in.

Also, after "operation pipe dream" a lot of the "local artists" in Eugene, OR (huge pot smoking hippy town) had to resort to making glass dildos because they could no longer make bongs. There was even an article on the front page of the register guard where somebody said something like "not that this happened I have to make glass dildos just to feed my family." I don't know the exact quote but I know that glass dildos was in there.
