I have played 8 Double Shootouts for the Bahamas thingy on PokerStars. I have made the final table four times, with finishes of 9, 7, 4, 2. I have suffered some horrendous beats through the process, and also delivered a few.

Anyhow, since I can't seem to ever win one of these things, I decided to Babe Ruth it tonight. I call victory. 7:15.

Good luck man. How did you do in that step game on PP last night? I watched it for a while, but didn't see the finish. Did you buy directly in or qualify?

Could a kind soul enlighten me as to what a double shootout is and how the Stars one is structured, if different from whatever the standard might be?

Is it where you play on a table of 9, then first place goes to play in a final table of 9, and first place in that gets the bahamas thing?

exactly right - 9 tables of 9 players - winner of each table gets seat in final table - winner of final table gets trip

I bought into 2 of them last night. I probably shouldn't have, but I did. I lost one where I lost a ton of chips with my aa losing to qq all in pf. And the second one I got blinded down and ran into KK.

They are fun though...

Don't worry, I suck at double shootouts myself. I've played 10 DS for the WPT and final tabled 3, whereupon I managed to blow it every time. I'm playing the one right now, not many familiar faces at the table. Good luck!
