I've seen these Hold'em games advertised that can be played on the TV. I believe the Play Station II has a multi-player hold'em game as well.

My thought is that this will increase the amount of kids that "grow up" playing Hold'em. In the US Major Sports target youth in their marketing because they have found that reaching children equals long term growth.

Where ESPN and WPT gave a Boom to Online Hold'em I believe that the home video game will lead to a steady growth.

Opinions?

Those video games suck though, kids wont play them over Yu-Gi-Oh or GTA or whatever.

Once they become old enough to realize the value of money, the money interest will overshadow the fact tht poker is basically boring as hell. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Speaking of young players...

I picked up a $10 TexasHold'Em chip and card set at the grocery store the other day for a xmas party gift exchange.

The box said the game was suitable for ages 8+.

LOL

Instead of buying a freaking video game, why don't they buy a deck of cards and some plastic poker chips. Sheesh.

Accidentally flashing your hole cards so other players see them take on a whole new dimension.

Keep in mind kids affinity for rebeling against authority. They ask for this, mom says, ok but dont gamble for real money. Next thing the kid does is set up a gambling ring where they all play for tomorrow's lunch money tonight. 10years later they're buying in a $100 NL table for $20. And remember, authority figures encourage reading books and learning. Thats too much like school so they wont be doing that! Besides, poker IS cool!
