Open min-raise (2xBB) vs standard 3 or 4xBB on Party

Since the stacks are so low and everyone is fighting to survive, is it worth it to open-raise 3 or 4xBB?

Or does a 2xBB open-raise accomplish the same goal; ie, to narrow the field?
