This situation came up twice this weekend and I was wondering what you guys would do, if anything.

PP S+G, three players left and I go all in on the button for about 2x the BB, In one instance SB takes awhile to act then calls after the BB says "call and we'll check him out of here". The other instance the BB says "just call", SB says "why" BB says "just do it", and they check it down.

should I just forget about it or report them to PP.

thanks,

-Pete

Very clear cases of collusion.

I do not know whether PP means Party or Paradise (I don't think Planet runs SnGs), but any of those sites will without any doubt respond and treat both instances without blinking.

Report the cases not only for your own benefit, but to protect the poker community against this kind of predators.

Best,

McMelchior (Johan)

Play on Stars where they disable chat after an all-in. That and their Support staff really does investigate possible instances of collusion. (I don't work for Stars, really -- I have just tried both Party and Stars and far prefer Stars IMHO)

That is so true. While you might reap tons more on party due to the players there, Stars actually responds immediately, investigates, and disqualifies people they find have acted inappropriately. Again, it doesn't mean you can make more at Stars because of this, but it certainly makes the experience feel more like there's someone watching over the game for your benefit. 'course, my roi on there is about 2% after 120 $30 SNGs but hey. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

report the tournament # and hand #'s... party at the very least will disable their chat and send them a stern warning

Thanks guys, I don't know why I didn't report it right away but I just looked up the hand historys and reported both cases.

Can you please post PP's response to the collusion? I'm curious as to the outcome.

Good luck,
Steve

I had a case of this one time late in a tourney all-in LP with JJ and one of the blinds has QQ. He says "I've got QQ" to the chat, and several players respond telling him to call. He does and I go out, but I e-mailed Party and got a fast response. They said they could not determine where I would have placed if the action had not happened, but they refunded my entry and "warned" the players that did it.

I reported collusion a few months ago on something similar. This was my email:
[ QUOTE ]
Dear Sir / Madam,

During the play of Games 679530336 and 679532293 of a $10/$1 NL Holdem
Tournament, player craigira attempted to use the chat box to plot
strategy against another player. After player Glockey raised allin,
craigira asked me if I would check and call for the rest of the hand in order
to get Glockey out. This is a clear violation of the game rules, and
craigira needs to be informed that such behavior is not acceptable.

I have attached both the hand histories and a summary of the chat
conversation. Please either revoke craigira's chat privlidges or sternly
warn him not to use the chat box to collude against other players.

Thank you,

Andrew Nerney

Dear Hero,

We would like to thank you for bringing to our notice the inappropriate conversation in the game ID 679530336 for the player 'Player3'.

This is definitely not acceptable, the chat feature is provided for players as an add on feature to better experience the action at our tables, but any misuse of this feature is not permitted.

We discourage such activities on our site and hence have him requested him an explanation for the same. We have also issued him a warning and have further placed a block on his chat privileges.

We keep all suspicious activities logged in a notes section on the account. If he repeats this action, we will have the details of the hand you were involved in as further evidence and will take more drastic action if necessary.

Thank you, for bringing this to our attention and for your concern about integrity on our Card Room.

Should you have any further questions, comments or concerns, please contact us through e-mail ot the Live Floor Person feature on our tables.

Kindest regards,

Francis Hamilton,
Investigations Team

This is the response I got to my email regarding the hand where the BB said to the SB who was taking awhile to act, "call and we will check him out of here."

note: The blinds were 200-400, the SB called my ~800 all-in with J4 off, the BB called and they checked it down. The SB won the hand but I would of lost to the BB anyway.

I hope they ment to say "indeed inappropiate " in reffering to the chat in the hand

-Pete

Dear Peter,

Thank you for contacting PartyPoker.com

We have received your complaint and have performed a detailed
investigation on the accounts "xxxxxx", "xxxxxxxxxxx".

We came to conclusion that the "chat" in Hand #xxxxxxxxx was indeed
appropriate. However we could not find any inconsistent game play between
the two players.

We sent them warnings and have put the accounts on a periodic review.
In case any kind of inconsistencies, their accounts will be closed and
banned from PartyPoker.com.

We do understand your apprehension regarding the security at our site
and wish to thank you for allowing us an opportunity to present
ourselves and our efforts to make our poker environment a real safe, secure and
fair one.

We have daily reports and alerts generated on various parameters, some
of them being the number of hands played together, the amount of
winnings and losses of players who have been playing together, Inter Account
Transfers, player's linked by IP, similar information of account,
references, to name a few. Our systems track and identify inconsistent
betting patterns and percentage "game play played" between combination of
accounts and their linkage if any.

Our systems are so built that we monitor players who happen to be
associated based on various parameters, and who play together on the same
tables. If we find a pattern suggesting that a certain player plays a lot
with some players in particular and that their game play is
inconsistent, then we go ahead and act accordingly.

Any approval of cash out by a player is preceded by an elaborate and
exhaustive check into a player's game play, his actions on the site and a
detailed review of his standing with the site Our cash out Policy
states that it would take 24-48 hours for us to review and approve any cash
out .The reason for this is that, every cash out is subjected to an
audit by a highly specialized team of game experts investigating into the
game play of the player concerned .The cash out is only approved after
it has been approved by a team comprising of game experts,
Investigation agents who check up for any inconsistencies, and finally processed /
approved by our Payment processing team after a thorough check up of
the Financial information.

We internally monitor players' actions with respect to collusion. We
also review and collect complaints filed by other players, such as your
complaint, regarding "suspicious" activities committed by some players.
We keep all suspicious activities logged in a notes section on their
account. The integrity of our games is of paramount importance to us and
we have never made it an issue of compromise.

Please be assured that we are constantly monitoring our tables and have
an Investigation/Fraud department in place which works 24/7 looking for
and investigating any discrepancies .We have a set up wherein reports
are generated by the system and any discrepancies brought to our notice.

As rightly said by you and agreed upon by all professional Poker
players, in any online business such as ours, the most vital aspect to which
everything boils down to is 'Trust'. We cannot begin to overemphasize
its importance, nor have we ever made it an issue of compromise. That is
something that we just cannot afford. Our principle is to provide a
safe Poker environment and by all, the fairest one. The Integrity of our
site is of paramount importance to us and we will not accept any
activity, which jeopardizes the interest of any player on our site.

Our efforts to maintain our integrity, principles and standards have
earned us the trust and loyalty of our players. Our every effort has been
concentrated towards ensuring a fair and safe environment for all
players. The reason I have explained this fact to you at length (even though
some information has been kept confidential for security reasons) was
to make you aware that no issue has been compromised upon and will never
be. I want you and your friends to feel comfortable playing at our
site.

You are a very valuable player to us and we would like to take this
opportunity to thank you for your continuous support and patronage of our
site.

If you have any further questions, comments or concerns, please contact
us at alerts@PartyPoker.com and we will be more than glad to assist
you.

Best regards,
