..serious help needed gateway 18"" lcd tv...

/images/graemlins/grin.gif about 3 months after warranty (1 yr) ran out..my gateway 18" tv computer screen just stopped working....gateway says they do not repair lcd's...a local repair shop sez they will not look at it.."just buy a new one"..but it was (is) not cheep

any help!!!
