Not sure if this is the forum to be posting this in, but I think it's a situation that arises fairly frequently when you have a tough decision in the BB. Say you are getting 8.5:1 or better on your call, what kinds of hands will you call with from the BB? Assume a typical LP table.

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (7 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with T/images/graemlins/club.gif, Q/images/graemlins/club.gif.
UTG folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO raises, Button calls, SB folds, Hero calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.

I knew the original limpers would call so I was getting 8.5:1 on my call. Q10 suited is really marginal I know, so did I make a mistake by calling in this situation?

FWIW I would call. QTs is a pretty clear call in my view. Getting 9.5:1 I would play a lot of hands. All pairs and good suited cards (I wouldn't play something like 92s). You have to be really careful with offsuit cards. Anything worth playing that is offsuit (AKo and AQo) is worth a reraise (except perhaps AQo).

Yeah I don't think I'd call with something like QJ and definately not with a hand like Q10o, and I wouldn't play something like 92s anywhere because it's total garbage.

In this situation, I'd do the same. SSHE does suggest that, if the preflop bettor is in EP and you have a several callers, you should call for one bet any suited hand.

I don't go as far as SSHE, but this is a very easy call. I call any two suited/connected with 4 players or more (not including me) and 1 gappers to 68s, and maybe even 107s if they're really terrible.

Easy call. This is not a marginal decision. (Something like 97s would be marginal IMO).

When you are getting odds of 9:1, and you consider those are the odds of flopping two pair or better or making a flush by the river, you can call with any two suited cards.
