This (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63760&item=6135346 403&rd=1) is an auction for poker chips that are still used at the foxwoods. Whats do you think the deal is. Is it a scam. Do you think he would risk selling them for less than a dollar? I guess with paulsons going for aboud $1.50 hes probably got a good little racket going on. No affilliation etc.

How is that a racket? He paid $100 for 100 chips at the casino plus the trouble to go there and pick them up. I've paid $115 plus shipping for a 100 Mirage chips. Cheaper than paulsons and cheaper than flying to vegas just for chips. The guys love it when I pull out the 'REAL DEAL" for the game.

I was just wondering why he would spen 100$ and then risk selling them for less than that. I think his opening bid was like 60$

I understand that is a good way to get paulsons cheap though. Im suprised we havent seen someone selling a set of paulsons made entirely of different casinos one dollar chips.

Another thing to consider. He is in Indiana. So the face value is meanless to him. He probably brought them back as souviners and now has tired of them. I'm sure they will go for more than $1/ea anyway. Most of the bidding is in the closing minutes/minute.

peace.

All he has to do is bid-pump it with a dummy account. It's a common ebay trick. NO RESERVE! The only risk he takes is if his dummy account actually wins it... He'll have to pay the ebay fees.

I thought this was funny... "For high quality pictures, please see:"

Wouldn't mind seeing a better pic of the chips having not had the pleasure of Foxwoods.

Dice702 did the same thing with some Binions .25, $1 and $2 chips. Nobody ended up bidding on the auction. I ended up picking up 100 of the .25 Paulson chips. Still thinking about getting 200+ $1 chips in Vegas. Since Paulsons have been going over $1, I would get the $1 chips in Vegas and probably buy $5 and $25 on Ebay. The set wont match exactly, but the mold will match.

yeah that sounds like a good plan. Would casinos get mad at you for taking chips with you? How much do you think they pay for paulsons? At what denomination do you think they are paying more for the chip than it is worth?

They love it when people do that. They pay < $1 for something & you give them > $1. That's why casinos have all those commemorative chips.

Yeah, no way do they pay near $1 per chip. If you walk out with chips they are making money. .50 chips are usually crappy light plastic, so they don't lose money on those either. I've walked out of casinos with full racks out in the open before and I've never been stopped.

If you run an ebay search for casino chips, you will usually find thousands for sale at any one time. There is actually a casino chip collecting club with over 6000 members at CCGTCC (http://www.ccgtcc.com) and hundreds of posters a day at The Chip Board (www.thechipboard.com).
