Party 5/10
I open-raise on the button with KQs, solid and aggressive SB 3-bets and unknown BB caps. Do you call?

yep. i think the fact that this is a steal makes it an easy call.

There doesn't seem to be a general consensus here. One easy call and another confident mucksville. I'm confused.

My thought process during the hand was that I was on a steal, so SB could 3-bet with a pretty wide range of hands and BB's capping standards should be at least lower than normal. However, I have a very easily dominated hand (even though it's soooooted) and BB's capping standards shouldn't be abnormally low (AA-TT, AK, AQs perhaps?).

Anyhow, I am still not sure. Anyone else?

Would you call two bets cold if you knew this was your opponents range of hands?

How about even if we throw in 99 and AJs? Do you still want to play?

I'd probably fold, but I think this is close. Assuming the SB calls, you are getting 5 to 1 to call and you have position. For 5 to 1 I'll gladly call against JJ, 1010, 99, and AJs. I ran a couple of simulations:

cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
Kh Qh 467291 34.09 899124 65.59 4339 0.32 0.342
Jd Jh 490845 35.81 875570 63.88 4339 0.32 0.359
As 9s 408279 29.78 958136 69.90 4339 0.32 0.299

cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
Kh Qh 371178 27.08 985125 71.87 14451 1.05 0.275
Kd Ah 608107 44.36 702252 51.23 60395 4.41 0.465
As 9s 331074 24.15 987221 72.02 52459 3.83 0.260

Looks like you have good enough pot equity even if BB has AK (27%) or JJ (34%). Post flop play is key. Easy fold post flop if an A comes. Easy play if a flush draw comes or J10. No A and you hit a K or Q will be tougher. Still think this is a close call, but a call requires very good post flop play.
