The only read I have is on Seat 1. He just likes to raise 3rd street. He’s passive otherwise. The game in general is pretty passive.

PokerStars: 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo Limit ($0.25/$0.50) - $0.05 Ante

3rd Street (1.6 SB) - Hero is Seat 4 with 6s 5c 7c (8 players)

Seat 1: X X [5d]
Seat 2: X X [2h]
Seat 3: X X [3s]
Hero: [6s 5c 7c]
Seat 5: X X [7h]
Seat 6: X X [4c]
Seat 7: X X [5h]
Seat 8: X X [Qs]

Action: Seat 2 brings-in low $0.10, Seat 3 calls, Hero calls, Seat 5 folds, Seat 6 calls, Seats 7 and 8 fold, Seat 1 raises $0.15 to $0.25, everyone left calls.

4th Street (6.6 SB) - Hero catches 4d (5 players)

Seat 1: X X [5d] Qh
Seat 2: X X [2h] As
Seat 3: X X [3s] 3c
Hero: [6s 5c 7c] 4d
Seat 6: X X [4c] 9d

Action: Seat 3 bets, Hero calls, Seat 6 calls, Seat 1 calls, Seat 2 calls.

5th Street (5.8 BB) - Hero catches Tc (5 players)

Seat 1: X X [5d] Qh 2d
Seat 2: X X [2h] As Jd
Seat 3: X X [3s] 3c Jh
Hero: [6s 5c 7c] 4d Tc
Seat 6: X X [4c] 9d 9h

Action: Everyone checks.

6th Street (5.8 BB) - Hero catches Ah (5 players)

Seat 1: X X [5d] Qh 2d 3h
Seat 2: X X [2h] As Jd Th
Seat 3: X X [3s] 3c Jh 4h
Hero: [6s 5c 7c] 4d Tc Ah
Seat 6: X X [4c] 9d 9h 5s

Action: Seat 6 checks, checked to Hero who bets, Seat 6 calls, Seat 1 calls, Seats 2 and 3 fold.

7th Street (8.8 BB) - Hero catches 8c (3 players)

Seat 1: X X [5d] Qh 2d 3h X
Hero: [6s 5c 7c] 4d Tc Ah 8c
Seat 6: X X [4c] 9d 9h 5s X

Action: Seat 6 checks, Seat 1 checks, Hero bets, Seat 6 calls $0.25 and is all-in, Seat 1 folds.

Lucky river, yep.

Any comments appreciated.

I jam this, best low draw and an openender with some dead cards

with these loose passive players i would tend to push harder with your hands that look like they can win both ways, or with draws to that same scenario. watch for hands that have dead cards. your hand in this case had alot of the cards you need out. but it kept getting better. good luck.

You might raise third, and you might raise fouth. On fourth, I would raise if I thought that most people would call. It sounds like that was the case, but you were there and we weren't. I'd also raise fourth if I thought everyone would fold, but that's probably too much to hope for. I would definitely bet on fifth street. No one is showing much at all, and you have a decent scoop chance, even though most of the Treys are out. Give people a chance to fold while you're at it. Of course you bet sixth and seventh. Nice hand.

Seat 6: mucked [6c 8d 4c 9d 9h 5s 2c] and I got the scoop.

It’s weird, I always bet a good four card low on fourth and here I have an OK low and an open-ender and I sit on my hands.

I was prolly seeing monsters in that Seat 1 had rivered low on me a few hands back and those 3’s being out kinda bothered me.

I hate to say this but I may have folded to a bet on 5th, so I clearly didn’t properly value this hand. Have I entered the weak/tight stage? /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I appreciate everyone’s replies. Thank you very much.

Folding to a bet on fifth with that draw against those boards would have been terrible.

I think you have a good calling hand, but not a raising hand, because many of your cards are dead. So I would call on 4th, and check/call on 5th. I don't like a bet on fifth.
