This week I should have an ipod mini shipped to me. I got it from whoring through ecasinodeals so I'm pretty pleased. My music collection is rather small and won't come anywhere near the 4 gig hard drive. That's where you guys come in. Suggest 5 songs for me to put on there. Don't need to be your five favorites just five you think I should listen to.

Here are five songs I would suggest for others, so as to give an indication of my taste:

1. Robert Johnson - Terraplane Blues
2. Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - Henehene Kou Aka
3. Jack Johnson - bubble toes - preferably a live version with stir it up and please don't go
4. Gregory Isaacs - Sad To Know (You're Leaving)
5. Jimi Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughan - Voodoo Chile (slight return)

That 'Why' remix is crack. I don't like the 'Jesus Walks' one so much though.

CDC, have you heard the 99 Problems/Voodoo Child mash-up?

Based on the OP's taste, here's my suggestions:

Billy Bragg: A New England
Nick Cave: Into my Arms
Tom Waits: Cold Cold Ground
The Pogues: The Body of an American
Violent Femmes: Out the Window

Anything by Squeeze.
more specifically:
Up the Junction
Tempted
Pulling Mussels (From the shell)
Cool for Cats
Black Coffee in Bed
Slap and Tickle
Annie Get your Gun

basically, their Greatest Hits album(although they didn't quite have enough hits to fill a whole album). Tempted was probably their biggest hit.

What does crack mean?

Common and Nas's verses on that song are pretty dope.

You know, it's like crack. Like, really good. Come on.

You don't like Jada's flow on that song?

And, I repeat, have you heard the Voodoo Child/99 Problems mashup? Good stuff.

As for Jay-Z Black Album Remixes, the best ones I've heard so far are Jay-z/Linkin Park and Jay-Z/Weezer. I'm not sure where you can find the Jay-Z/Linkin Park mixes, but the guy who put together Jay-Z/Weezer mix has a website here. (http://jay-zeezer.com) I've heard mixed reviews about it, but I like it a lot.

Oh, and based on your picks, you also might want to look into Guster and Ben Folds (his solo, post-Ben Folds Five stuff) namely:
Guster
-Barrel of a Gun
-Airport Song
-Amsterdam

Ben Folds
-Army
-Kate
-Battle of Who Could Care Less
-Annie Waits
-Fired

If you ever feel like getting depressed, Elliott Smith has some incredible songs like Needle In The Hay (if you've seen Royal Tenenbaums, it's the song playing when Richie tries to kill himself).

Angel - Dave Matthews Band (Everyday)
Rocket Ship - Guster (Goldfly)
Malt Liquor Tastes Better When You've Got Problems - Less Than Jake (Borders and Boundaries)

Well I think everyone here knows how I feel about Linkin Park, so we won't get into that.

PM me if you want me to send you the Voodoo Child version, it's worth the time.
