how do I make PT get hand histories for me at party/empire while I'm away? Do I simply leave empire with 4 tables open and PT running with the "auto import" settings the same as when I'm playing?

Click on the "configure import of observed hands" button and follow the instructions. If you click on help there is a how to import observed hands if you need it.

cool, found the options and I'm pretty sure it's working... now for another question:

Can pokertracker see tables that are minimized or should I leave them on the desktop? I can't think of a reason it wouldn't be able to see minimized ones, but ya never know.

ok, I think experimentation while I'm playing two tables has told me.... I seem to be importing the observed hands from two minimized tables too. very cool.
