Preflop: Hero is UTG with 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 8/images/graemlins/club.gif.

SB checks, <font color="CC3333">Hero bets t450</font>

I like to limp in with pocket pairs and play them for set value if I can get a reasonable price. I am not sure about my decision to bet out on the flop. OTOH I don't want to see a 9 or a 5 nor a T or 4 really. OTOH what are the chances of the flop getting checked through? Perhaps a C/R would have been better? I am not too worried about the straight as it is unlikely and I still have a stack of outs.

Final Pot: t6530
<font color="green">Main Pot: t2490 (t2490), between BB, MP1 and Hero.</font>
<font color="green">Pot 2: t4040 (t4040), between BB and Hero.</font>

I decided to flat call initially as the min raise is always suspicious, I can get away if there is a large reraise behind me and I have position. When he just called the BBs push, however, I figured that his min raise meant I had him beat and thus I did not want him to see a flop. If he had something like a KJ then I was only likely to get postflop action from him if he had me beat. I figured the BB was desperate, but in any case I had pot odds to call.

UTG (t985)
MP1 (t1960)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A/images/graemlins/spade.gif, Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
<font color="666666">1 fold</font>, MP1 calls t200, MP2 calls t200, <font color="666666">2 folds</font>, SB completes, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises to t2630[/color,}

I figured that there was a nice 800 in the pot which I quite fancied for myself, and as they had limped I likely had the best hand, so I pushed. I did not fancy playing AQ out of position so I just shoved it all in.

Thanks.

#1. I think I bet a little less, maybe 250. I guess I am not sure what I am trying to accomplish with a lesser bet though. If someone comes back over the top I probably put all my chips im anyway. Maybe I am hoping for a call from someone on a draw and I can get more chips from him on the turn.

#2. I think I would have played this the same way given your large stack.

If I were the original raiser w/ AA or KK I just call here too hoping that you will call as well, then I would push on the flop.

#3. Good play.
