New to no-limit

just curious, to play at a certain level, how many times the buy-in should your bankroll be. Like for party Nl 50 buy in, how big should your bankroll be?

If you ever get through 20 buyins your game needs serious attention.

Minimum 10 buyins ($500), preferably 20 buyins ($1000).

a minimum of 20. some say 10 minimum but for my own psychological well being i play much more comfortably with at least 20 and i usually like to have more. so if your that type of person, thats my 2 cents. but ya like that one dude said if you lose 20 thats not a good sign.

somebody once posted here that your bankroll should be big enough that your only consideration in making a bet, raise or fold is maximizing your +EV. that is, enough that you don't stress at all over losing a buy-in or two. enough that you never have to adapt your game to your bankroll. i felt that this is good advice and i've tried to follow it. I play NL 50 and 100 sometimes but prefer to multitable NL25, where i have this comfort level. i do not play 50 or 100 if my roll is currently under about 1500$. i don't like the idea of risking 10% of my money for one buy in (that's putting 40% of my roll out there if i am multitabling). i'd rather risk 2.5% for four buy ins, and still be playing the same ammount at one time.
