How many hours a week do you work?

Not sure if poker counts but right now I average 90hours/month although I am really working on getting more time in.

In my business, I put in around 60/week in the winter. Closer to 80 in the summer. Boo yah. But, I am no wage slave that's for sure.

I own two businesses and am still working on my sports bar so I am pushing 70-80 hrs/week easily, tie that in with having a 7 yr old daughter, my desire to squeeze in poker nearly every night either online or at homegames/casino and I also still party 2 nights a week (one night with the boys and one night with my wife). Damn I am busy!

I used to work 80+ hours per week (5+ years ago). Now I don't work at all.

Why do you work this much? Seriously I am interested as to the reasons people choose to work as muchas you do.

After graduating I went to work for a big 4 accounting firm and it took me all of 6months to realize the working 55+hrs a week sucks as wasn't worth the difference between 40k and 35k. Of course being on salary sucks regardless.

Then came poker and things seem to work out.

Well this is the OOT forum! Gotta adjust a bit.

Back during summer I worked about 80 hours a week for 3 weeks, that was [censored] hell. I don't know how people can consistantly work 50+ hour weeks.

It's just the way I am, I am the type of person who can't sit still and I am obsessed with retiring early so I can do what I want at that point. My goal is the Sports Bar, once i get the business plan exactly the way I want it then I will sell out of my other businesses and just concentrate on that. I spent my first 6+ years out of college bartending and partying my ass off so now I am making up for lost time.

I'm surprised at the number of people who said they don't work. I'm curious... is that because you play poker full time, are currently in between jobs, or because you are in school?
