Over the Thanksgiving holiday period I vacationed for a week in Florida. I stayed in the Melbourne, FL area which is a little bit south of Orlando. I also visited south Florida traveling along the coast from Melbourne to Ft. Lauderdale. Lots of hurricane damage that's unfixed still exists in the Melbourne-Palm Bay area. Also quite a bit along the coast as well. The most evident damage was the damage to roofs. Metal roofs faired the best that I saw with minimal damage that I could see, tiled roofs did almost as well. Shingled roofs were torn up everywhere I saw. Interestingly my Dad has a shingled roof and sustained little damage to his while there was much damage to others in his neighborhood. He had roof job done last year and the workman attached the nails by hand with hammers rather than a nail gun. It must suck having a tarp on your roof covering holes in it for months especially when it rains alot.
