View Full Version : Getting Into Sports Betting

I have been gambling professionally for a while now. I am a poker player, a blackjack player and I have even figured out a few other ways to extract money from the casinos. I have never, however, managed to break into the world of sports betting. I must admit to being slightly overwhelmed and intimiated by all the information out there on sports betting and thus by sports betting itself. I would very much like to break into this world of opportunity though and I believe I have a strong understanding of college basketball and a decent understanding of pro basketball and football. Can anyone recommend some good books or resources on sports betting? I'm speaking not just of handicapping but also of how to analyze the lines and betting options and determine where to strike.

Thanks in advance.

I'm in the same boat. Look at the last post from Wild Bill (Power Ratings). I've read Trace Fields book on college basketball and Bob McCune's Insights into Sports Betting. No one is going to devulge their secrets. It's going to be trial and error. Good luck.
