Is this proper strategy for AQ in first two rounds, I will not call any raise with it unless I am in small blind or big blind and a minimum raise? Of course certain situations such as calling someones all in with minimal chips. Basically want to know if I am wasting these AQ's I even muck them with lot of limpers because I don't want to be trapped in an unraised pot and really don't want to raise big and have to go to battle with that hand very early.

That's pretty much what I do.

Here's my general criteria.

If one limper, I'll raise to 80 with AQs if I'm on the button or CO. Fold otherwise.

If more than one limper, fold.

Call a min-raise from the blinds.

Fold to any reraise.

Fold if there's a raise in beforehand.

I'll also open-raise to 60 or 80 if in the last three positions or the blinds.

It's just not a hand you want to go to war with early. Once the blinds get to 75-150 and higher, it's a different story.

Just curious as to the level you guys play at. Terp I think I've heard you mention 20/30/50's.

At 5/10 I think AQ early is pretty solid to open raise with from almost any position except maybe UTG, UTG+1. I am positive at higher levels they lose almost all value early.

I agree on everything else though, AQ makes for GREAT second best hands.
