I'm more annoyed by the people behind the invitation and the prospect of "partying" with them, which I guess the invitation is symbolic of anyway. The invitations themselves are usually pretty annoying too though.

Party invitations requesting (or worse, demanding) any kind of attire annoy me. I'm fity-one years old. I've been to weddings and parties and such before. I know how to dress. And why in hell anybody would care what I wear somewhere is beyond me. I'm not the one getting married.

Some sort of very large hat is definitely what's called for here.
