View Full Version : Card pictures in the 2+2 books

I want to say that I hate the [censored] card pictures! (I'm allowed to use that word, since it'll be censored anyways, right?).

I don't understand why some cards are blown up, but all cards aren't. I'd have figured that one way or the other would be the way to go (my preference is clear).

However, I really really really love the books -- really.

I just wish someone said something about this before you guys published SSHE.

I don't want to make this post any longer than I already have, but I'd like some other readers to share their honest opinions with a simple "agree" or "disagree" reply.

Once again, these books are just incredible work, truly amazing stuff... I only have this one tiny problem with them.

Perhaps a better way to do this (since most people value their reputation here, including myself, sadly), would be to make a poll the next time you plan on publishing a book.

Whether you like card pictures or not isn't going to affect your reputation. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Having said that, I know Mason is committed to them for several reasons, so I'd expect to see them in future books as well.

Okay, I gotta ask...
Why? Why would anyone HATE the card pictures?
Is it because they so closely resemble actual playing cards?
What would you prefer? Like UNO cards, or something?
How about sideways, diagonally, or in a fan maybe?
Have you complained about this to the online sites (they use the same graphics)?

scratch my last post.... can someone explain *this* post to me? are you saying that the 2+2 authors should take our input on font and typesetting? what the hell are you talking about and how does this have anything to do with someone's reputation?

The card pictures are essential.

Do you see why?

What's the point of this post? it's not an intensely thought-provoking subject.

I think we've got a couple disagrees, a huge disagree by proxy, and a bunch of "huh?"'s. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Motion declined. Fair enough.

Nope. Enlighten me.

I'd be all for eliminating them and just using symbols a la Carson's Complete Book of Hold Em Poker or the hand histories on this forum run through bisonbison's converter. In my mind the actual cards add very little; all i see at the table are the indices anyway. But it's unlike that space would be used for more text, so they're not harming me in any way.
