Hi all,

I keep seeing references to people who have two monitors so that they can 8-table. How does two monitors allow you to do this? Do they mean two computers?

I don't understand!!

you can hook 2 monitors up to the same computer and play 2 party skins simultaneously.

No, they just use two monitors with high resolution. This allows them to have about 4 tables per monitor. The higher your resolution, the more screen space you have.

Some graphics cards allow you to hook up more than one monitor to them. Additionaly, if you have more than one graphics card in your computer, you usually can use it for a second monitor (depending on compatibility).

But how do you have two desktops?

I don't understand how you split up the desktops.

If you have Widows XP it is built into windows otherwise you need software which sometimes comes with the graphics card. I have a program that came on my puter called nvidea which supports up to two desktops. Other software will support more than two.

i just have to plug a regular monitor into my laptop and voila...I have two monitors.

Go to Control Panel: Display: Settings (if you have Windows XP or something modern) and you should probably have this capability.

The mouse just easily slides from one monitor over to the other creating, essentially, one big monitor. you can drag things from one monitor to the other, etc.

Even if you are only 4-tabling it's really nice.
You have 4-tables on one screen....and e-mail, 2+2, pokertracker, your favorite porn involving eskimos and aardvarks, whatever, over on the other monitor.

this depends on the video card you have for your computer. Many will support multiple monitors. You will not need a new computer to be able to do this, just new video card. In fact your video card may support this already. Go to the website of the video card manufacture for the card you have. If you don't have separate video card but are using hte on-board video support from your computer, consult the computer manufactureer's website to find out whether you 'puter supports multiple monitors.

One way to find out is to go to control panel and see the various settings that are available. If their is an option/setting for multiple monitors, you are golden.

It's also built into Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows 2000. As well as Mac OSX.
