MP1 is the TAG

UB 3/6 (10 handed)
Pre-flop: 3 folds, MP1 & MP2 call, folded to hero who calls on button w/3/images/graemlins/club.gif 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, SB completes, BB checks.

5 to the flop for 5 SB

Flop: J/images/graemlins/heart.gif 4/images/graemlins/club.gif 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif
Checked through

<font color="red"> Should I have bet here? </font>

5 to the turn for 2.5 BB

Turn: 7/images/graemlins/club.gif
Folded to MP1 who bets, folded to hero who raises....

<font color="red">Ok against a TAG in a small pot? </font>

Meh. I let this one go. No set, no bet. OTOH, 33 is one of hands I play the poorest, so what do I know (other than I leak lots of money with it)? So, with pocket 5s and below, I've moved to a "no set, no bet" policy.

One of the most useful things, IMO, in Miller's book is the small pots vs large pots section. This is a small pot and as such sways my thinking and makes it an easy fold.

I think its an easy fold. MP1 is probably ahead of you. It wouldn't suprise me if he had a hand like J,T and missed a check-raise on the flop or if he didn't bet his 7's until they turned into trips on the turn.

Thanks for the responses. MP1 did end up folding and I took it down right there. That doesn't make the play correct (the reason I posted the hand).

Weak hand + Small Pot = fold.
