rumour on street is the market is being propped up so to save face and be above numbers on 9-11-01...also, is their a real threat that saudis withdraw assests from us markets...maybe going into euro denominated bonds, securities is safer and more politically correct for the homeland of the majority of 9-11 terrorists?

Where do you hear such rumors? I highly doubt the Saudis are going anywhere, they are the ultimate hypocrites when it comes to themselves. They are the people that will rule their land with strict Islam (no booze, no women, no gambling, etc), yet when they come to the US they can't get to the bar in Vegas fast enough because the hookers are waiting for them. They invest in race horses for the "sport" yet of course that whole business is driven by gambling. When it comes to investing I am certain they don't care what they are investing in (as long as it isn't Israeli), they just are greedy like the rest of us and will invest where they think they will make money.
