Hey guys, I thought I'd post two AKs hands here. The second hand is mainly to show that I can indeed push with this hand when the situation warrants (95+% of the time).

I DO have a question about the second hand, though... anyone think I should have called the first bet on the river?

The first hand is the controversial one: basically I wanted to get as many people as possible in the pot... didn't want them to have to face two cold... especially being in crappy position (but position wasn't a big factor).

If I had AKo in this hand, I would have raised, but AKs plays well in multi-pots (as you know).

Three bet preflop in hand 1. Rest is fine.

River raise in hand 2 is bad after action on the turn. I would think that river gave at least one of them a boat.

Definitely... I remember thinking, "Why did I do this to myself?" when I called. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

When I made my raise in hand 2, I had a bunch of people already in for two bets, so I felt good going ahead with the three bet. With hand 1, I wanted people in there to pad my draws post-flop, and to pay me off when I hit my monster. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I figured that I would limit the field severely and not get too much extra cash in there with a raise.

I only read Hand #2 cause I'm busy. I don't get the flop raise. Just call, it is too likely that you will get 3-bet. Just calling the river looks okay too.

You know first hand how incredibly uncreatively I play aces... I figure hand 2 justifies some equally dull play.

Hand 1 is different though -- I don't have a lot of people in for 2 bets already.

Hand 1 is fine IMO. Hand 2 isn't so goot.

Sorry guys, going to bump this now that that it's during the daytime.

Does anyone have any comments on my cold-call with AKs? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

You mean preflop in hand 1? Easy raise, but you already knew that. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone else cold-called two more, but you're happy either way.

Now that I look at hand 1 again...

I like betting out the flop and hoping for CO to raise so you can three bet.

However, when BB raises you and MP1, MP3, and CO cold call his raise, perhaps calling on the flop and check raising the turn is the best play.

With the three bet, you made 4 extra SB on the flop. A successful turn check raise (where BB bets) gets you an extra 4 BB.

Just a thought.

Very cool, thank you.

I don't CR enough... going to have to work on that quite a bit to maximize earnings.

I've played 4200 hands of .5/1 poker over the last three days, as well as working two 8-hour shifts at my day job...

I've SEEN 3-4 guys cold call every friggin PF I raise...

Therefore I agree with three-betting... probably won't lose anyone.
