To me, the pause/reraise screamed a monster - st8 or possibly bigger set - it's a tell right out of Caro's book -so I'm not sure if calling here was the wisest decision -

I figure - 1400 in the pot b4 his raise - it costs me another 1500 to see the last card, so I'm what...2-1 on pot odds? - and if I put him for the monster - I'm drawing to 10 outs out of 46, for a 3.6-1 draw - J/10, I'm golden - but who knows...

and I've got 900 of my 2400 in the pot already - over 1/3rd in

you laying it down or calling?

results to follow -

I am definitely calling here. He could very easily have hit 2 pair on the turn and really thinks he has the best hand here. Obviously in an unraised pot he could very well have any 2 cards but with you checkraising the flop and betting out on the turn, I don't see him making this push with 8-9 to try and push you off your hand. IMO he would wait to the river to push and try and get some more chips out of you if he had the str8.

he turned the nut st8 with 89 - but I snagged a 7 on the river to crack him...

ended up going out in 18th with $53 bucks - LOL
