well after playing very paciently the past couple months...i worked my initial deposit of 100$ up to 750$ playing .5/1 and 1/2 ..................then sunday happened....while trying to clear an ultimatbet bonus i went on TILT big time! ..... stupid me took $450 to a 10/20 game and lost it all...ive never had problems doing stupid things like this before..ugh...atleast i didnt lose it all. I cashed out 200 and kept 100 to switch over to party and play 5+1's for a while(about a month is my plan) until i feel like going back to 1/2. when the time comes im going to deposit what ever it takes to make my online BR $600 ...... ugh...any of yall ever done really dumb things like this???

haha, I haven't done anything like this.

I find it interesting that people do this. I'm glad you made this post. I thought moving to 5/10 with only 400 BB was a ballsy move.

Jumping to 10/20 with only 22 BB, now that is balls.

yeah very very dumb...although keep in mind i wasnt trying to move up a in limits...it was more my tilt was so bad i said to myself "im going to lose this $ right now...or win a huge one and boost my BR for 1/2". thats how crazy i got...ugh

Tilt is quite an amazing thing.

I want to hear more tilt stories. I imagine some people must have done crazier [censored] that this.

When I first discovered online poker a few years back, I would invariably play way above my bankroll and experience level. Tilt can easily destroy your discipline; it probably took me a year of doing things like this to realize I was screwing up (this forum helped alot). It sucks when it happens, hopefully you won't do it again. I'm sure alot of people have made this exact same mistake, I laugh at myself now when I think back on it.

Chris Daddy Cool plays new limits with about 4 BB and still destroys the table.

Sorry that you tilted off yor bankroll. Listen, you made a terrible mistake but it only cost you really $100. Many mistakes in life are much more costly. If you have learned your lesson and don't repeat this mistake then you may be better off in the longrun.

Best of luck.

Colgin

I've done similar things before. You might not believe me now, but it's going to be good for you in the long run. Something about the way you tick hates losing, and when you lose you don't want to get it back slowly and patiently. This experience is going to help you not make the same mistake when it can cost you more than a measly $450.

Good luck,
Justin A

as my affiliate once told me: Losing significant chunks of your bankroll is good for your soul, just dont make a habit of it."

You know, you COULD have built that $200 back up to $450, and beyond . . . it's a shame you wimped out and left.

Last year I took a shot at 10/20 when my luck was crappy at 5/10 and I wanted to Make Money Back In A Hurry. Oooh that was a bad mistake. A good $1000+ mistake.

I did take a shot at what I perceived to be a soft 15/30 game once, but only stuck around for an orbit, as I realized I was playing way way way way way way way too scared. My bankroll may officially be able to weather a 100BB hit, but psychologically it would have been hell.

No, I've never put 60% of all the money I have won into a game I need roughly 10x the bankroll for. Don't do it again and you will be fine.

I had a similar situation, but not quite as bad. I built up about $400 from my initial $100 deposit playing .5/1. Then I got impatient and moved up to 2/4. I stayed pretty much even for a week or so, then I ran into a bunch of bad cards and/or bad playing and wiped out almost $200. I'm going to go back down to .5/1 for a while /images/graemlins/smile.gif I think everyone should have a formula for moving up/down in levels such that you never totally blow your all of your bankroll. I'm playing with other people's money now, and I plan to keep it that way.

CDC is a myth, he claims to live less than a mile away from me, yet I've never seen him.

I have, however, heard that there has been a recent rash of pregnancies in the Isla Vista area, and all the girls have claimed the father is a tall and strong asian man with a 12" cock. Naturally nobody believed that.
