I had no read on UTG+1 since I had just sat down at the table. Would have made this hand easy if I had a read.

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, Hero calls, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (5 SB) Q/images/graemlins/club.gif, 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="blue">(5 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">SB bets</font>, BB folds, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 raises</font>, UTG+2 folds, <font color="CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, SB folds, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 caps</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (7 BB) 7/images/graemlins/heart.gif <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
UTG+1 checks, <font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 raises</font>, Hero ??????

Is it time to just call down here or should I 3-bet this? I was thinking that if UTG+1 had AQ KQ he would have raised pre-flop. It is possible he has QJ or Q10 but that sure doesn't seem likely. Could he be playing a pocket pair here?

i call down. it should be pretty clear you have a Q.. so he's saying he at least has trips. QJ/QT seem more likely than Q8/Q5/Q4 (Q7,Q6,Q3,Q2 cancel out somewhat, tho a boat is more likely with the check-raise). in any case, you'll often be capped when behind (lose 2) or just called when ahead (win 1).

Call the turn/river. You are very likely outkicked (pocket 3's maybe), and you lost your backdoor flush draw on the turn.

Does anyone else go into check/call mode on the turn if the turn card isn't a Q, 9, or diamond? With a 9 kicker and that flop action, that's what I'm doing.

I call down and villian turns over an oddly played AQ off suite.
