I've got 40K hands in at 0.5/1 and 1/2 and am at around 1.75BB/100. Clearly I'm no expert, but I'm no idiot either. Yesterday (-45BB) was one of those days where every moron caught on me on the river. (I'll post some hands later today. They are painful yet comical.) I understand that variance can be large against the nimrods at micros. I am wondering what kind of downturn is "typical" at the micros, even for a "decent" player. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

very typical

I'd start to get some concern if you get over -100BB and then only concern, as in taking a look at my game and starting to rethink.

If your getting worried about -45BB after playing 45K hands you've had a very nice 45K hands.

Even 100 isn't THAT much.... I've had a few -100bb swings, and -50 happens frequently.. My worst is somewhere in the -160 range.. Seems clear you're a long-term winner, so just make sure you're properly bankrolled and the swings won't break you.

I'm an OK player I average 3.7BB/100 at 50/1. I've had -180BB downswing over 4k hands.

Hope this helps soften your loss. Get used to it, I lose 40 BB quite consistently, but usually make it up over time.
