It's a ballsy move, but it could work. I'd want the opponent to be aggressive and not particularly loose (VP$IP and WSD ~40%).

I don't like this much.

There are so many losing hands that UTG+1 will call a bet with but gratefully check behind. Plus he is not going to sense terrible weakness when you check because he thinks you fear the straight, so when he bets he is going to have you beat a fair bit of the time.
