UB 1/2 HE (tight)

Hero has A7o in BB. 2 limpers and the SB completes.

Flop: 755.

I bet, get two callers.

Turn: A

I bet, one fold, LP raises.

Do I pay this off?

LP is loose-passive generally?

I'd pay it off, because he'll be raising here with a worse hand (like ATo) a significant amount of the time. Certainly more often than 20%, I'd say.

No, sorry... meant "late position."

Umm you are at least paying this one off. The decision is more between 3-betting, check/raising the river or calling down. He will surely bet an ace when checked to on the river, so my vote is to call now and c/r the river.

I know.

I meant: LP (late position) is loose-passive generally? Meaning I'd like to know a little bit about him. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nobody else is 99% sure it's the old "wait to turn to raise my monster" ploy?

A rivercheckraise would be golden, but I don't know that I can fold to a 3-bet once the pot is that big... so I dunno. You think you're good > 66% of the time?

Well, I didn't really have a read, other than pretty much everyone at UB is tight/weak.

If they're weak-tight they've got way more aces than they have 5's.

If you 3-bet the turn he will cap with a better hand 99% of the time IMO.
If you c/r the river, I feel that he will 3-bet a better hand say 70% of the time (and just call the rest fearing that the river helped you). This is why I like the river check/raise more then the turn 3-bet.

I might be talking out of my ass, so let me know if I am.

I think this was my vague thought as I called down....

I really don't fear a 3-bet...
The limpers are tight, so they aren't likely to have hands like 56s. They very well could have AJ or AT. I might not check/raise a river J-9, fearing that they made a better aces up. If they do 3-bet me, I guess I have to give them credit for 77 or 55 or A5 and laydown.

i wouldnt even think about folding here.

whether I 3-bet or go into call down mode usually depends on whether Im running hot or cold. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif
